Itinerary

Day 1: Kathmandu to Pokhara
The journey begins early in the morning heading west along the Prithvi Highway, which follows the Trishuli River valley. The route winds through lush hills, terraced farmlands, and scattered villages, showcasing Nepal’s diverse landscapes. After approximately 8 hours, we arrive in Pokhara, a picturesque city renowned for its lakes, mountain views, and laid-back atmosphere. Spend the evening unwinding by Phewa Lake, exploring its vibrant lakeside area, or taking in breathtaking views of the Annapurna and Machhapuchhre peaks.

Day 2: Pokhara to Yanjakot (1200m, trekking time 4-5 hours)
After breakfast, we take a one-hour drive to Kaliksthan from Pokhara, passing through charming rural towns and villages. The trek begins along an off-road trail, leading through dense forests filled pine trees. We descend to the Madi River, and cross a suspension bridge before beginning a steep ascent to Yanjakot, a traditional Gurung village. The Gurungs, known for their rich cultural heritage and service in the British and Indian Gorkha regiments, have preserved their unique traditions, music, and architecture. From the village, we are rewarded with panoramic views of Annapurna, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and Lamjung Himal.

Day 3: Yanjakot (1200m) to Tangting (1600m, trekking time 4-5 hours)
The trek from Yanjakot to Tangting begins with a gentle descent through lush forests, leading to a steeper downhill section that transitions onto an off-road trail. As we navigate through the winding path, we pass through a picturesque riverside village, crossing suspension bridges and following rugged trails that meander through terraced fields and scattered settlements of the Magar and Gurung communities. The final stretch presents a short yet steep ascent, rewarding us with our arrival at Tangting, a traditional Gurung village that offers breathtaking views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre. This charming settlement, with its stone-paved alleys, rustic wooden homes, and the warm hospitality of its people, provides an immersive cultural experience.

Day 4: Tangting (1600) Trek to Siklish (2000m, trekking time 4 hours)
Today’s trek features a mix of gradual and steep descents towards the Madi River, where we cross another suspension bridge. From there, we ascend through terraced fields and alpine meadows, eventually reaching Siklish, one of Nepal’s largest Gurung villages. Perched on a ridge with stunning views of the Annapurna range, Siklish retains its traditional charm, with wooden homes, Buddhist prayer flags, and cultural monuments. The village has a long history of sending young men to serve in the British and Indian Gorkha regiments, and its people take great pride in their heritage.

Day 5: Siklish (2000m)
We start the day with a hike to Rishi Danda, a stunning viewpoint that provides a 360-degree panorama of the Annapurna and Lamjung Himal ranges. After taking in the breathtaking scenery, we return to the village to visit the local museum, which showcases Gurung culture, traditional attire, and historical artifacts. Strolling through Siklish, we’ll experience daily rural life, from women weaving traditional baskets to elders sharing folk tales. The day allows for cultural immersion, making it a memorable experience.

Day 6: Siklish to Pokhara
Bidding farewell to the mountains, we take a jeep ride back to Pokhara, passing through rolling hills, small settlements, and terraced farmlands. The off-road drive provides a final opportunity to soak in the beauty of Nepal’s countryside before returning to the city. Upon arrival in Pokhara, you are free to explore the World Peace Pagoda, Davis Falls, or relax by Phewa Lake before heading to your next destination.
